Winning a first-place Award of Excellence was Brandywine Living’s new senior living community, Brandywine at Livingston. Designed by Meyer Design, the high-end retirement community spans 147,500 square feet and houses 120 apartments and suites. During the project, the team was challenged early on with the discovery of rocks in the would-be foundation. To prevent costly delays, the team revised the construction plan to allow new-jersey-construction-awards work to be put in place on the available land while the excavation continued elsewhere.

Wohlsen also received an Award of Merit for the additions and renovations to Universal Health Services’ (UHS) Hampton Behavioral Health. The project, designed by Array Architects, added 8,775 square feet and renovated 4,500 square feet to the occupied facility. The additions and renovations were completed safely, on time, and on budget, thanks to the cohesiveness and knowledge of the IPD team.

A Gold-Level STEP Certificate was also presented to Wohlsen for their achievements in safety. The esteemed award recognized Wohlsen’s achievement in safety management excellence, highlighted by commitment, a well-written safety program, and OSHA incidence rates consistently below established national averages.
