Safety

Wohlsen Safety

At Wohlsen, there is no higher priority than safety. Our pursuit of an incident-free environment is relentless, data-driven, and award-winning.

Every person on our job sites — team members, subcontracting partners, supporting professionals, and clients — is accountable for safety. All are expected to be vigilant to potential hazards, stop unsafe actions, and carry out safe behaviors.

Policies and procedures are documented and updated annually. These include everything from fall and fire protection to traffic control, electrical work practices, and safe use of scaffolds, aerial lifts, and other equipment.

We require personnel to:

  • participate in general training including, but not limited to, OSHA 10, 30 hour, and first aid/CPR
  • attend site-specific weekly safety meetings led by superintendents and foremen
  • earn certification in operating heavy equipment
  • attend training offered by our in-house certified safety managers

Each job site has a dedicated safety plan. We partner with our clients to build site-specific safety plans for unique situations, tailored to best fit their environment (whether working near rail lines, occupied and active senior living and healthcare, sensitive manufacturing facilities, etc.). Additionally, subcontractors must participate in pre-installation meetings and weekly safety meetings to review expectations and performance. Safety inspections must be completed by the Wohlsen team and every major subcontractor, with the findings to be reviewed weekly.

Through recurring worksite audits, we collect and analyze information to ensure policies are being followed and risk is minimized. These audits are analyzed to seek opportunities for improvement, with continuous improvement being one of our core values.
