Wohlsen Advances Connecticut Teammates

Wohlsen Construction Company is pleased to announce the promotions of Mauro Rubbo to Vice President of Construction, Maura Richards to Vice President of Business Development, Mike Courtney to Senior Project Manager, and James Thompson to Superintendent. These achievements recognize the continuous professional development and leadership in their careers at Wohlsen Construction.

Over his past 34 years in the industry Mr. Rubbo has worked his way up through several positions spanning numerous geographies and working on projects in various business sectors and delivery methods. Throughout his time with Wohlsen, serving as project executive, Rubbo has demonstrated exemplary leadership skills along with his expert knowledge of the construction industry, leading to his promotion to Vice President of Construction. In this role, he will oversee all project team members and aspects of the construction process for Wohlsen’s Connecticut team. Rubbo holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from University of New Haven.

Prior to joining Wohlsen Maura spent 15 years in the senior living industry as a provider and consultant, working with numerous senior living communities to improve their sales and marketing initiatives. Since joining  Wohlsen, she has shared this unique level of expertise to provide valuable insight and understanding to both clients and construction personnel. In her new role as Vice President of Business Development, Maura will continue to build and maintain client relationships while representing, upholding, and growing Wohlsen Construction’s image throughout the senior living market and the Connecticut region. Maura holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colorado State University.

Mike Courtney began his career in construction 16 years ago as a project engineer and assistant project manager. Since joining Wohlsen as a project manager, he has excelled in his role by providing technical and leadership skills. His ability to successfully support Wohlsen projects throughout the entire construction process has earned him the opportunity to further support Wohlsen as a Senior Project Manager. Courtney holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Villanova University and a Master of Business Administration from Pace University.

James Thompson has led a vital role in the successful completion of several major projects for Wohlsen. From the onset of his career 15 years ago, starting as an apprentice carpenter, he has worked his way up through field positions. Since joining Wohlsen as an assistant superintendent he has demonstrated continuous professional growth, leading to his meritorious promotion to superintendent with the primary role of leading all efforts in the field for Wohlsen’s Connecticut based projects.
