Wohlsen Breaks Ground for Two New Residence Halls

Wohlsen Construction Company recently broke ground on Phase 2 of a new residence hall project located at Mansfield University. 

The $80 million phased project is being developed by EdR, (NYSE: EDR) one of the nation’s largest owners, developers and managers of collegiate housing, and constructed for Mansfield Auxiliary Corporation.  WTW Architects of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is servingas the architect.

The scope of Phase 2 entails the construction of two residence halls totaling 224,000 square feet containing 684 beds which will feature state-of-the-art style housing, private rooms, and geothermal heating and cooling.  Construction commenced in September with completion scheduled for the Fall of 2013.

Wohlsen’s operations team includes Brian Laub of Lancaster, Pa. serving as project manager, Bill McCord of Willow Street, Pa, as superintendent, Mike Bracken and Rob Stauffer, both of Lancaster, Pa. as project engineers.

Wohlsen Construction Company, a Green Plus certified company, was founded in 1890 and is one of the leading merit shop construction firms in the Mid-Atlantic States.
