Wohlsen Builds New State-of-the-Art Medical Office Building

Posted in: News on January 11, 2019

Wohlsen Construction is proud to have provided preconstruction and construction management services for Penn State Health Lime Spring Outpatient Center, a new two-story medical office building in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. After 13 months of construction, the center is fully occupied and opened last Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

The new 76,000 square foot facility condenses a wide variety of medical offices and services into one, convenient location. This plays a fundamental role in Penn State Health’s goal of ensuring patients in central Pennsylvania are within ten minutes of a primary care provider and 20 minutes of a specialist.

Thanks to the innovative design layout provided by Richard F. Mulá Architects, patient’s entire visit, from check-in to check-out can now occur in the same room. A real-time location system was incorporated throughout the building, which uses ceiling sensors, personal badges, and mapping software to manage the location of staff and patients. These cutting-edge elements help streamline the patients’ visits, provide more privacy, and improve staff efficiency.
