Wohlsen Construction Receives Lancaster County Preservation Trust Award

Posted in: Awards on November 23, 2015

Wohlsen Construction Company received a 2015 C. Emlen Urban Award in Restoration / Adaptive Reuse from the Lancaster County Preservation Trust for the renovations to the home of Excentia’s Life Enrichment Program. The award is presented to projects that maintain the historical character of the structure through thoughtful and sensitive additions and / or restorations.

Located in three underutilized warehouses built in the early 1900’s, Wohlsen Construction, Heck Construction and RGS Associates teamed to complete Richard F. Mula Architects’ redevelopment design. The project maintains the original floor plan of the building but modernizes it to better suit the needs of Excentia and their program dedicated to enriching the lives of children and adults with developmental difficulties.

Wohlsen Construction Company, celebrating its 125th anniversary, is a Green Plus Certified company and one of the leading merit shop construction firms in the Mid-Atlantic States.
