Wohlsen Honored with Four Awards of Excellence

Wohlsen Construction Company received four awards from the Delaware Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) at the association’s Annual Excellence in Construction Awards banquet.

Wohlsen received the Green Excellence Award for the Delaware City DMV facility located in Wilmington.   The 43,000 square foot project was designed to receive LEED Silver certification and was constructed for Delaware Department of Transportation.  Bernardon Haber Holloway Architects served as the architect.

The Delaware City DMV facility also received an Excellence Award in the GC/CM Over $5 million category.

Additionally, an Excellence Award in the GC/CM Over $5 million category was received for the Concord Health Center proje
ct for Christiana Care Health System.  The project, located in Chadds Ford, PA, designed by Bernardon Haber Holloway Architects consisted of 75,219 square feet of additions and renovations to provide a new state-of-the-art health care facility.

A Merit award was presented to Wohlsen in the GC/CM Under $5 million category for the 44 Kent Way Renovation project.  Bernardon Haber Holloway Architects designed the 10,000 square feet of renovations to the historic building located on the University of Delaware campus.

Wohlsen Construction Company, a Green Plus Certified company, was founded in 1890 and is one of the leading merit shop construction firms in the Mid-Atlantic States.
