Project Description

Restoration and waterproofing of 100-year old building involved:

  • Cutting, demolition, and removal of existing ceramic tile gutter system and substrates
  • Repair of existing structural steel and installation of new structural steel framing for gutter substrates
  • Carpentry sheathing of plywood substrates for metal lining of gutter system
  • Installation of roof insulation, furring, and plywood sheathing on roof gables and dome
  • Removal, restoration, and reinstallation of steel catwalk ladders on roof gables
  • Installation of new fiberglass   catwalk system around 1,400-foot perimeter of roof
  • Restoration, repair, and replacement of 320 window components
  • Rigging for airlift removal and reinstallation of Commonwealth statue atop main dome
  • Waterproofing repairs to fountain on east side of building
