Project Description
Preconstruction and construction management services for new energy and nutrient recovery facility included:
- Sitework including a half mile access road
- Pre-engineered metal building
Sustainable features:
- Ability to generate 2.5 megawatts of electricity
- Recycle over 13,000 tons of mineral byproducts annually
- Reduce farm ammonia emissions
- Eliminate over 34,000 tons of CO2 equivalent greenhouse gases annually
- Eliminate manure application on 23,000 acres of land
- Reduce phosphorous loading to the Chesapeake Bay by 4.4%
The new facility uses gasification technology to transform egg layer manure into renewable energy and mineral byproducts.
