Project Description

Preconstruction and construction management services for new energy and nutrient recovery facility included:

  • Sitework including a half mile access road
  • Pre-engineered metal building

Sustainable features:

  • Ability to generate 2.5 megawatts of electricity
  • Recycle over 13,000 tons of mineral byproducts annually
  • Reduce farm ammonia emissions
  • Eliminate over 34,000 tons of CO2 equivalent greenhouse gases annually
  • Eliminate manure application on 23,000 acres of land
  • Reduce phosphorous loading to the Chesapeake Bay by 4.4%

The new facility uses gasification technology to transform egg layer manure into renewable energy and mineral byproducts.
