Project Description
Wohlsen’s impressive, award-winning project included the preservation of both the Versailles-inspired, five-floor mansion and the historical French gardens.
Mansion work included:
- Upgrades to the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems as well as the fire detection and suppression systems
- Roof restoration
- Foundation waterproofing
- ADA-compliant ramping
Work done at the gardens included:
- Cataloging, removing, restoring and reinstalling all materials – fountains, statues, urns and 3,000 pieces of stone
- Reinstallation of a lily pond
- Several pools drained, excavated, replaced and re-landscaped
- An 800,000-gallon, quarter-acre reflecting pool was also drained, cleaned and repaired
- The colonnade was cleaned and underwent major masonry repair
- Restoration of 12-foot Statue of Achievement
