Brubaker Floodplain Restoration

New Construction

Project Type

Project Description

Preconstruction and construction management services for the floodplain restoration of Brubaker Run in the Lime Spring Farm development.

The project will initially remove 35,000 cubic yards of sediment from the floodplain and create lower, more stable banks. Each year, the project will continue to remove 250 tons of sediment, greatly improving the runoff that ends up in the Chesapeake Bay.

In addition to these environmental improvements, the project adds eight acres of developable land to Lime Spring Farm, a development which will house retail, light industrial, and residential space.

This development includes other Wohlsen-managed projects such as: the sitework; Lime Spring Square; the local organic food cooperative warehouse, Lancaster Farm Fresh; and the U-Gro Learning Centre.
